The point of a twin is that nothing about the control side changes. The same runtime, the same tasks, the same IEC 61131-3 Structured Text — only what sits on the other side of the I/O is simulated rather than steel. Logic that runs the twin is the logic that runs the machine.
That matters for the awkward parts of commissioning: sequences you cannot safely rehearse on real hardware, faults you cannot conveniently cause on purpose, and the first-pass mistakes you would rather make against a simulation than against a moving axis.
